In order to enhance essential hockey skills, we encourage players on an individual basis, to challenge their weaknesses and improve their expertise as well as drive players to play beyond their comfort zone.
Exposing players to different skills can be challenging at the start, but at Stronghold Hockey, we passionately believe over time, it becomes an invaluable skill they will be able to utilize under pressure, on and off the ice.

Powerskating
The main objective in a power skating session is to improve a player’s skating functionality while using their edges in a unique way. Players will test their edge limitations and work to develop longer strides and foot speed and overall, increasing power on the ice.

In essence, power skating provides the foundation upon which all other hockey skills are built. A player who can skate effectively can handle the puck better, shoot more accurately, and defend more effectively.
Defence Camps
Defense-focused camps involve a targeted approach to enhance the specific skills and strategies required for effective defensive play. The emphasis is on refining defensive techniques, such as body positioning, stick checks, and shot blocking. Individual sessions might include drills to improve agility, quick decision-making, and the ability to read the opposing team’s plays. Personalized feedback is crucial to help defenders understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Tactical elements, such as defensive zone coverage, clearing the crease, and outlet passes, are addressed to ensure a cohesive and reliable defensive unit. Team Sessions
Team sessions involves a multifaceted approach aimed at refining individual skills and fostering collective synergy. The focus is on tailoring drills to address specific player needs, honing skills such as skating techniques, shooting accuracy, and puck control. During these sessions, players receive personalized feedback to enhance their strengths and improve upon weaknesses. The training also emphasizes strategic elements, ensuring players understand their roles within the team structure

Group Training
Small groups can book with Stronghold Hockey to work on a variety of skills custom to the group of players. Having a group of players who share the same goal or play the same position, builds a sense of team work and motivation. Group training can very fun and beneficial as players can work together to push each other further.
Private Sessions
Players can book one on one sessions to focus on specific skills that may not be addressed in a group setting. Goals will be determined and set prior to any sessions and a practice plan will be developed accordingly.
